Cat Green

Program Manager, Lifetime Community

My work is informed by my Catholic upbringing, in which I was lucky enough to learn about Catholic Social Teaching, Liberation Theology, and the Catholic Workers Movement. My time in the church also taught me about the immense difficulty of changing institutions that were built to oppress, a lesson that was further reinforced by my work in climate activism.

Before I came to GenUnity, I worked at the Beacon Hill Friends House on programming and then spent a year in academic administration. Before I moved to Boston, I was a barista in Virginia, a job that taught me more than any other how to collaborate and communicate with all sorts of people.

I’m also a writer, and spend much of my free time working on long and short fiction, poetry, and essays. I live in Somerville, where I love engaging with the arts, going to the library, and writing in coffee shops for hours at a time.
