I am a Dominican-American, born and raised in Lawrence, MA, a predominantly Dominican and Puerto Rican city. Being a first-generation college graduate, I recognize that it really did “take a village” for me to achieve this milestone- hardworking mom, loving family and many encouraging teachers/advisors.
While majoring in Global Studies at Trinity College, I gained an understanding of the larger systems affecting other students of color like me from achieving a higher education and higher earning jobs. After graduating, I decided to work towards affording other people of color the same opportunities I had so I turned to non-profit work. I began working at West End House Boys and Girls Club as their Development Operations Coordinator and then their Community Engagement Coordinator. Through these roles, I discovered a passion for amplifying the voices of the people I hope to support.
Guided by this newfound passion, I joined GenUnity as the Marketing and Communications associate in March 2023.
